Mama Siwema is a song composed by the Tanzanian Poet Mrisho Mpoto. The song is composed specifically for the "Right to Safe Light" of Femina HIP and d.light design. The campaign promotes the use of solar lights in Tanzania, specifically for students in order to refrain them from using dangerous, unhealthy kerosene lamps. Today, 98% of the rural population still uses kerosene for light on a daily basis.
